After Covid affecting so many families and their jobs, more than ever, families were turning to help, especially around Christmas. We decided to help 10 families that were affected by hardship and make their Christmas one to remember. We raised $7400 for these families and their kids. One family had a father tragically in the hospital and we were able to help them communicate with eachother with facebook portals so that they could be with eachother virtually over the holidays. Another family received presents christmas eve, and the kids even had tears in their eyes after being told they wouldn't be able to afford a christmas this year.
The Collingwood Martial Arts Center was a perfect fit for our fundraising this summer, as they were putting on a summer camp for kids, which included all kinds of activities, meals, outdoor adventures and martial arts classes for kids. We donated $4750 to the Sensei to help make their experience better as well as help some kids in need that really wanted to go, but the parents couldnt afford it.
